My journey as a product designer

Graphic/Web Designer

UI/UX Designer

Product Designer

  • Graphic/web designer: After getting my BA in Graphic Design, I worked as a graphic/web designer at a travel company turning static websites to responsive websites. Through this experience, I discovered my passion for UI/UX design where my work could help real people. Also I learned how to build relationship with engineering partners through empathy and genuine appreciation for their work.

  • UI/UX designer at agencies: Next, I worked as an UI/UX designer for iOS and Android apps at agencies where I designed a feature or a new app from discovery to delivery, adopting solutions for each platform. I learned differences between mobile web vs native app designs as well as design patterns specific to iOS vs Android.

  • Product designer at startups: Then, I worked at Saas companies as a product designer to gain direct assess to users and data in order to [___].

  • By joining startups, I became a well-rounded designer by wearing many hats of Researcher, Product Manager, QA and beyond. Although I’m not an expert in these areas, the knowledge helped me become more adoptable, versatile, and see a bigger picture and a better collaborator.

  • This helped me to design products which connected business goals, technical constrains and user satisfaction

  • and how to become a better teammate for designer, engineers, , mentored other designers

  • What is a problem, why this is worth solving for, how to measure success -> Product thinking

Curiosity, life-time learner,

  • I care about if I am solving the right problem in the right way, and how to measure its success.

  • How to collaborate with

I relentlessly pursue simplifying and distilling complex business processes into intuitive and elegant product experiences. On a day-to-day basis, you can find me crafting questions for surveys and interviews, discussing product requirements with a PM, creating diagrams to align the team on flows, designing prototypes for testings, finalizing designs, writing specs, and reviewing designs on staging.

I’m consistently asking myself whether I am solving the right problem in the right way, and how to measure its success. In that way, I can come up with a solution that moves the needle for business and delivers values to customers.

I truly believe that great things are rarely achieved by just one genius who knows it all. Rather, they are accomplished by great teamwork among smart, nice, low ego individuals. I love “jamming” with other people on Figma and FigJam where I can share, build ideas together, and lean on other people’s expertise, including other designers, PMs, engineers, data scientists, customer representatives, and marketing.
