User-centred Design Process

1. Researching context of a project, business goals, target market, competitions. I try to see the big picture and how this project fit into the picture.

2. I gather user data by interviewing them and observing their behaviours as they performs tasks related to the projects.

3. Based on the data, I create an experience map mapping the entire experience and pay attention to their pain points.

4. Create user personas, a best representation of the users. It help the team stays on focus, a great communication tool, guide for recruiting users for user testing

5. Create scenarios and storyboards

6. User flow

7. Software map

8. Wireframing + Prototyping + User testing

9. Visual Design

UI Design Tools

Main design tool I use is Sketch for . I use Invision to see how the overall experience feels like and Principle for figuring out custom animations and transitions. I find it easier to use Adobe Illustrator to create custom icons. I use Adobe Photoshop for editing photos and images.

User-centered design means working with your users all throughout the project.
